Research units

Research units at the University of Bayreuth are scientific institutions, each of which is assigned to one or more faculties. Research units support and bundle research topics that are of interest to the University but have not yet reached significance justifying the establishment of a research centre.

Research units should have a clearly defined, common research topic. Their further development into research centres is possible if they serve to establish interdisciplinary research networks.
